Good Morning,
I want to start off with a sincere thank you for all of your prayers for my family. As mom says, "Into each life some rain must fall." This past year my family has had its share of rain, but not so much that we don't enjoy and have gratitude for the sunrise each morning.
You, my viewers, are all so kind and caring, your words, notes, email, (and yes, your tweets) are so uplifting. Thank you for taking a moment to send some positive energy my way. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness. As always, life stays busy, no matter how many challenges we may all be dealing with at any given moment, the days come and go and the holidays quickly arrive.
We did it, we all did it, we survived Halloween, right? Of course, I didn't get through it without eating way too much candy... ugh... I restarted my eating plan on Sunday... okay, I mean today, Monday.
I ran out of candy around 8:30 and I had bought over 1,500 pieces of candy... yep, it gets that busy around here. My neighborhood does it up big and fancy, the works!
I love seeing how creative the decorating can get. Across the street, my friends had giant black spiders crawling all over their house, others had well-lighted tombstones, bride and groom skeletons dressed in wedding attire dangling from the balcony, bats flying on invisible wires. "Awesome," as I heard so many of the kids say.
I had orange lighting all over the front of the house, the talking butler I bought at Walgreens, a fog machine, a lighted skull, etc. -- so much fun!
Charlie managed to get the pumpkin cheesecake off the counter at the end of the night. After my last guest had left, I was out front talking to some neighbors and I thought he (Charlie) was awfully quiet. When I walked into the kitchen, there he was with pumpkin cheesecake and graham cracker crust all over his face, his tail was a-waggin' -- he couldn't have been happier.
Cut to:
Midnight, 2AM, 3:45AM, 5AM, it was "good ol' pumpkin cheesecake Charlie" waking me up so he could go outside, he was sick as a dog... a dog who ate cheesecake.
Anyway, he seems much better today. On his walk yesterday morning he made sure to find each and every little piece of candy dropped by trick-or-treaters. Ugh, it was like walking through an obstacle course, just keeping him away from every half-eaten lollipop and Snickers bar scattered on the sidewalk. What a mess. But by this morning, everyone had cleaned up, and they're now ready for winter holiday decorations.
I have to admit, I did not stick to my "eating plan" at all, I couldn't resist the candy and the wine!
I was so glad to hear how much you all enjoyed our '80s-themed Halloween show. The commercials and music videos from the '80s brought back so many memories. We really wanted to put on a complete '80s show -- and I could never have done it without our amazing crew.
"The Bonnie Hunt Show's" hair, makeup and wardrobe departments are THE best in the business. They all put in so much time and effort, not to mention their imagination and talent, to make sure all the costumes, hair and makeup was just right. Even the little kids on the show all looked so authentic and fabulous.
Don and the guys dressed as "The Facts of Life" cast made me laugh all day. I love that the crew is so enthusiastic about being involved. The producers, writers and assistants, everyone on the whole crew gave 150% to make the show fun for everyone.
Okay, this week we have some great guests, and most of all, we love just spending time with all of you, sharing our stories and having a laugh. See you all this week.
