Message from Bonnie - Week of November 10th

Hello,
It's another 'sweeps week,' as they call it in show biz. During this time of year the powers that be pay even closer attention to the ratings.
We want to not only make sure that you our loyal viewers stay tuned but we'd also like to entice more viewers as well. So this week will be doing a different type of topic, for instance: 'Naked Ladies of the Night Who Have Too Many Parking Tickets.'
What do you think?
(I'm just kidding about the 'naked ladies and their parking tickets') hmmm, maybe that would be a good show? No, stop it, I'm falling under the sensational promotions to get ratings spell...ugh..shake it off, here we go...
Back to the truth, we start off a sweeps week with tribute to our troops and then one of my favorite guests, my Mom. I'm looking forward to sharing another 'Ask Alice' segment with all of you. We'll have Mom on Monday's show, answering viewers questions. She truly gets a kick out of being a part of the show.
Also, Tom Bergeron from 'Dancing with the Stars' and 'America's Funniest Videos' will join us. Tom's an old friend. It's nice to share time with him. We put together a surprise for Tom, it's our own homemade video submissions for 'America's Funniest Videos.'
It's always so interesting to have actors on the show whose work I've enjoyed but have not yet met, such as Neal McDonough from 'Desperate Housewives' and Jennifer Esposito from 'Samantha Who?'
Of course my nieces are thrilled that Joshua Jackson, formerly of 'Dawson's Creek,' will be on to talk about what's new in his life and how he's doing on the new show, 'Fringe.'
We also have some great music this week, and as always some 'regular folk' to share their stories.
I can't wait to share more videos of my 'man on the street' adventures.
So come join us for another week of laughing at ourselves and learning something, like painting a master piece, as we all learned to do last week.
I do plan on having Connie Gordon back to do another painting lesson. Connie's 85 years-old and continues to share her enthusiasm for art, creativity and teaching. I'm so happy you all enjoy Connie as much as I do.
Tuesday is Veteran's Day. We will have spouses of service men and women in our audience and we will pay tribute to our troops.
We are fortunate to have on Patty and Patrick Horan appearing on the show Tuesday, I met this brave couple last February at the Casa Colina Rehab facility here in California.
Like so many of the young injured soldiers whom I am fortunate enough to spend time with, I find Patty and Patrick to be an example of courage, love, commitment, and triumph. I'm so happy they are coming to share their story with all of us.
Have a wonderful week.
Bonnie

I found the cute flowery Mug / cup Bonnie Hunt uses on her show! I was so happy I bought them for everyone in my family and let me tell you I was not disappointed! A neat gallery in Laguna Beach, CA. Their website is www.PacificGallery.net and if you click on "ceramics" you'll find them under "Don Swanson designs" - beautiful!
OOPS!! I just sent you an email and forgot to post my name and email address, what can I say Bonnie?, I'm getting old and I forget to do some of the things I should do. You'll do that too, one of these days, but I know you have a lot of years before you reach that point. Oh, and don't worry about the scratching your head habit, I think it's okay, don't know why it would bug anybody, I do the same thing. I don't really like being thought of as "Anonymous", so, once again, I'll say, Sincerely, Julia Fausak from Mobile, Al.
Hi Bonnie,
I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your show, I record it everyday & then watch it when I have time, some evenings I watch several shows at a time. I wanted to come for a taping, but it looks as though you won't be taping when I am in Los Angeles, (Dec. 11th thru 16th), I'm really sorry about that, I have always been a fan of yours. Oh well, maybe next time, I hope your show lasts for years to come! You are so funny & pretty, and even though we were raised in different parts of the states, I can relate to a lot of your family stories, I come from a family of 11 myself, ( 7 girls, 4 boys.) It's great to grow up in a large family. I have 6 children of my own, all grown up, and love being with them, my husband is deceased, but my children keep me busy & feeling younger than my 68 yrs. Anyway, keep up the good work, you make me laugh, even when I'm feeling bad. It's a well known fact, that "Laughter is the best medicine". Love you Bonnie! Sincerely, Julia Fausak (aka:Judy)
P.S. Love your Mom segments too, she's so cute!
Bonnie! The show is great! Tom Bergeron has become one of my favorite comedians - although he may consider himself a reality show host - his humor makes "Dancing With the Stars" The two of you made watching even more fun this week fun. I remember he was on before Cloris Leachman started "Dancing with the Stars" and he gave us all fair warning of Cloris' free flowing critique style. (which I personally loved) He sort of skirted around your question about Cloris saying she was no longer welcomed. Maybe after this run of "Dancing with the Stars" he will be willing to come back on the show and give us the real scoop. I think the competitive and egotistic "I am a Star" became the personalities of the lesser stars on how they reacted to Cloris. It's all about entertainment - right? And no one was more entertaining than Cloris Leachman along with her partner Corky. I would love to know how the ratings did after Cloris was voted off the show - it stopped my "can't wait till Monday" excitement towards the show.
Sorry about that - back to you Bonnie. The show is delightful to watch with your acute sense of humor and compassion. Friday's show had you going from a strange encounter with a snake to a one on one conversation with a brave actress conquering her addictions. It went as smoothly as the snake went through your legs. Even with a more serious conversation there was humor and the natural giggles that come along with life experiences.
I have Monday's episode already Tivo -ed. I am so excited about Adam Rodriquez being on your show. I have never seen him on a show outside of "CSI Miami." Yes, I am madly in love with him. He is the cutest and hottest guy period on TV. I'm jealous of you getting to be you talking to him while he is himself being who he really is talking to you. Can't wait!!!
Keep the shows coming and coming. Your show is one of the best ways to spend an hour. Thanks!
Suzy
Hi guys!
Congrats on another awesome week of outstanding TV! This show truly makes my days so much brighter. I am by no means a talk show fan, but finally there is one that is fresh, intelligent, original, and SINCERELY FUNNY! :) I want to say thank you to everyone who works so hard to make this show happen. I think it's truly the best thing on television!
Also, I love, love, love the retro set. If I ever had a talk show, my set would totally be a tribute to my longtime hero, Bonnie Hunt! :)
Love,
Andrea
Wow. I am so excited to have found your show. Like everyone else here, I am a huge fan.
You are the real thing, Bonnie! I can see it in how you treat other people--you genuinely care. Your show, from the graphics to the sweet nature of the contests and content, reminds me of talk shows from the past. I mean that as a great compliment--it's wonderful.
Thanks for sharing your humor and fresh outlook with the rest of us. Keep it up--we love it!
OMG Bonnie I saw the pouting act on Jo and Slade!! I remembered your imitation and I laughed so hard I almost coughed up a lung! It was a very serious moment too, Wes it was! You make me laugh out loud every single day. Thanks for the joy, Chicago girl!!! You make us so proud.
hello Bonnie I do love your show. Your sense of humor cracks me up. I can always count on you to make feel good. So when I am having a bad day and I feel pain all over, I tune into you. That hour is the best in my whole day.
I love how you keep it real.
Bonnie I sent you a letter on rememberence day about how in Canada. In the province of Ontario. There is a strech of highway, that when the bodies of our fallen soldiers travelon there way home.People come out and wait (Sometimes for hours ) dressed in red. They wait to show there respects to the solder 's as the car carrying it goes by. The over passes and miles upon miles of people line this road. The hyway has been renamed the hiway of hero's . Rememberence day always make me feel overwhelmed with pride but to see this as it happens must be very powerful as well. Well that's it for now Thanks for having such a great show.
Dear Bonnie,
I absolutely love your new talk show! It's fresh, and funny! Do you ever see Steve Martin? Are you and steve ever planning another sequel to Cheaper by the Dozen? I hope so, you and Steve have such great chemistry. I own both "Cheaper By The Dozens'1&2. Great Stuff!!!
Keep up the great work on your show! I love you,and hope to meet you someday in the future!!
Love,
Todd Meiners
I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your show. I loved you in everything I have seen you in. You are very funny. I record your show everyday, especially when I know I won't be home to watch. You make me laugh everyday! I wanted to say that I was glad you had Neal McDonough on because he is very scary in Desperate Housewives. I really hated him until I saw him on the show and realized that he is actually a nice guy. He is a good actor and plays his part well because he is evil on that show! I hope your show stays on a very long time.
Hello Bonnie ,
I just love your show! So great to see you having your own show
again!! You deserve it! My sister and I (okay our Mom,too!) love
your movie that you directed and co- wrote- "Return To Me"..
such a great movie! You are so talented.
I love David Letterman show also..The two of you have such
great chemistry together and you work so well together. You
are such a great comedian also.
Bonnie, My sister and I have a music group called "The Sisters Morales" we sing, play guitar, write our own music, and we also sing in Spanish. We have a sound that is like Bonnie Raitt meets Los Lobos. We have been called the "Female Los Lobos".
We have a new cd called" Talking To The River" produced by
Steve Berlin from Los Lobos.
We have been performing all our lives..we travel all over the US
and in Europe.

Bonnie, keep up the good work. Kudos to your staff. It is obvious you have a great team.
Hi Bonnie! I love your show and i think your adorable. I have a question...Are you going to show us how to dye your hair? I thought it was going to be on today. I need to save $125.00 from my hair coloring every six weeks.I also hate sitting for hours in a salon.Carrie-Ann Anaba was too cute on your show today. Being a cancer survivor, I love all that you do for the cure, and the people you inspire to help. Thank You! Your loyal fan
Hey Bonnie!
I just watched your show from Veterans Day. When you said the lady from amazing race ironed her husbands sheets I almost died of laughter. My mother STILL irons her sheets and pillowcases. My older sister and I we just talking about it last week. That is why I love your show. You are so real. Also did the garbage boys ever come on the show? I think I missed it :(
Alyson
Have been a big fan of yours for years and LOVE the show - tape it every day and switch to it when the evening news shows get me down for a gauranteed laugh. BUT .... have been all over your web site looking for the Bush/Obama photo to post my caption ....no luck. Where is it ???????
Hi, "Bonnie": Watch the show every day it is on, and enjoy it immensely. Your humor is great, your Mom is a gem, and you always have the most interesting guests, and they are not all celebreties. Don Lake, Holly, the band--super!!
I have a couple of things on my mind.
People (me included) send in to "Saw it--Want it--Win it", but we never hear who wins the prizes. It would be great, if it were possible for you to take a wee minute to announce who wins each of the prizes offered to the home viewers.
One more thing. How about you singing a number with the band--hear you singing snatches of different songs, but would like to hear you do a nice number with the band.
Again, the show is tops and so much well watching.
Fondly,
"Marge"
Caption for Bush and Obama picture: Well George, any bets as which one of us can do the Ellen dance over the coffee table?
Hi Bonnie,
I needed to write and say a quick Thank You....Though a long-time fan, and having thought forever that you have brought up the quality of any comedy you have been in just by being you and as funny as you are, I have to tell you something.
I am 7 months post-partum from my 3rd son, a gorgeous little man. I have been dealing with rather severe post-partum depression. Having never dealt with this with the other 2 boys I am finding my way through this grey time as I go.
Your show, your humor, your delivery of that humor, and your humanity have been giving me at least an hour a day of respite and escape from my own hormones! So thank you for years of comedy, and now for that wonderful hour a day. If I didn't live across the country I would try to get tickets to laugh in person with you! Keep it up, from one thankful mom out there,
Kristine

Love your show and love your nostalgic set.
I can hear Dino singing! Not really.
Thanks joni bologna
Hi!
I love your show! It is so fun & refreshing, and your compassion for others and passion for life is contagious. I'm usually at work (I'm a nanny) so I record it to watch later...it is my favorite thing to watch when I need a "pick-me-up."
Happy day!
Cathy
