SHOW RECAP
Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott ("Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood," "Mommywood"): Tori grew up with everything a girl could want, but these days she's trying to give her kids something she didn't have... a normal childhood. Her new book and the fourth season of their reality show cover her life as one of the most famous suburban moms out there.

Yara Shahidi ("Imagine That"): Most people have to wait a lifetime to work with a big celebrity like Eddie Murphy, but not this 9-year-old! In this new film she's playing his daughter -- whose imagination helps save Eddie's character's career.

Chef Eric Ripert: The last time he was here, he made something out of geoduck (a salt water clam). He's back, and we can only imagine what he's got cooking this time!

"The Amazing Race" Winners: The race is now over, and Bonnie is pleased to welcome the winning team! Hear about how the end went down -- and what they plan to do with that million-dollar prize!

Chef Eric Ripert's Rare-Seared Tuna Paillard with Spring Vegetables                         Print This Recipe
Ingredients:

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoon sherry vinegar
fine sea salt and freshly ground white pepper
6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

The Spring Vegetables and Tuna:
½ pound haricorts verts
1 yellow bell pepper, cut into 22-inch by ¼-inch julienne strips
1 red bell pepper, cut into 2-inch by ¼-inch julienne strips
6 red grape tomatoes, halved
6 yellow pear tomatoes, halved
fine sea salt and freshly ground white pepper
2 (8-ounce) tuna steaks (about 4-inches by 3 ½-inches by 1-inch thick)
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon picked thyme leaves
2 tablespoon basil julienne
2 tablespoons sliced chives
1/2 lemon
6 basil tops
Directions

1. Whisk together Dijon mustard and sherry vinegar. Season to taste with salt and pepper and slowly drizzle in the olive oil until fully incorporated.

2. Bring a small pot of water to a boil and salt generously. Blanch the haricots verts until crisp tender, about 5 minutes. Plunge the haricots verts into an ice- water bath to stop cooking. Drain and reserve.

3. For the tuna, cut each steak horizontally into 3 equal slices. Place two nonstick pans over high heat; when pans are hot, brush tuna on one side, using 1 teaspoon olive oil per tuna slice. Season generously with salt and pepper and sprinkle one side with thyme leaves. Sear the tuna, oiled side down until nicely browned, but still rare, about 30 seconds. Remove from the pan.

4. To serve, place the vegetables in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Toss with enough vinaigrette to coat and divide evenly around six plates. Brush the rare side of tuna with remaining olive oil, season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with basil julienne and chives. Place a tuna in the center of each plate. Squeeze lemon juice over the tuna and garnish each with a basil top. Serve immediately.

Enjoy!

first of all you need to learn to spell it is improv not improve...second of all everyone likes to get out of their daily routine and watch reality. More people watch then you know, that is why tv has gone to reality tv because they know they will get the ratings.

Dear Bonnie,
I was doing a channel check & caught your program a couple of months back. I have always liked you as an actress and have truely gone on to thoroughly enjoy you as a talk show host. I Tivo you & then when I am working in my home office I get caught up w/4 or 5 shows at once. Your sense of humor is fantastic. Thanks for entertaining us in this day & age w/out needing to sensor any bad language & having some good old-fashion clean fun.
I think it is so special that you give time & honor to your Mom for her time space on the show AND get a kick out of "Ask Alice".

Hi love your show would like to know the name of the fasical that Nick talked about on last fridays show. Thanks Sharon

Bonnie - I have always thought you were smart and funny. I really enjoy most of your shows. I think you have become obsessed with some of the "reality" shows, like the "Real Housewives" ..... You are really much smarter than that.

Please get back to your improve, smart comedy roots and leave the "reality" bimbos behind.

I enjoyed Friday's show. Tori and Dean are a sweet couple that deserve all the happiness they are striving for. Having Chef Eric Ripert on was so perfect for me because my daughter had just purchased her first tuna (i call them steaks) and we did not know how to prepare it. I was suprised that it is eaten half raw?.. How about that, 76 and never made tuna steaks - hmmmm So, thanks for all the fun of your show, You make me laugh, you are one funny gal. Stay well, Estelle

bonnie,

who is in the alcove when you enter. and why do you act so surprised? it's every time.

I loved the show today I like tori spelling and your dog charlie.

Bonnie we love your show. My wife and I tivo and watch it at night. You are a delight, we love your mom, Don, and the entire crew that you share with us. It's a clean, warm and fresh show.
You are a kick! We will be writing to get tickets after your summer vacation. Celebrating our 47th anniversary this August and would love to have a hot dog and root bear on the house!

This is a short comment. I love your show, but please, never have Tori and Dean on again. I am from Canada and they are discusting. I could not watch the interview. I am wondering why, anyone would care about them. Gail.

Look forward to your show every day. Can't watch it in the daytime, so I record it every day and enjoy it in the evening. That's when I can relax in front of TV and have a few laughs. Helps me sleep better at night. Love your Mom!The patience and tolerance she used with raising 7 children is amazing. I have always loved you in your movies and sit-coms and am so glad you have a daily show. Thanks for giving so much pleasure to everyone. Hope to be there in person with many of my friends next season.

Bonnie, you are fantastic and your Mom is great. Please don't have guests like Tori spelling.on your show she is a waste. Your FANTASTIC!!!!!

I don't think anyone from the show even reads these posts much less respond to them..by the way tried the recipe...awful..

Enjoy your show. Re Tori and Dean, can't quite understand how putting children in a reality show equates raising them in a 'normal' atmosphere. Appreciated the interview with the Great Race winners. It is encouraging to see such an intelligent and well spoken pair of young people.

Friday, May 15 - good show; wish I was there;

Hi Bonnie,

Anyone that stays in an apartment because of a wild bird has to be one of the nicest people on earth. But then you've always been #1 to me!. I am currently trying to sell my home and with a number of indoor cats (all rescues) and now 2 feral cats, it is very difficult. The two outdoor cats don't get along with each other so one comes to the front door and the other hangs around the back door. My realtor is mighty upset with all of the fur, food bowls and scratching posts. I don't have 2 yrs to get out of here and I am hoping for an animal person to come along.

Love your show - you always brighten my day.

Hi Bonnie,
Enjoyed your week of honoring our nurses. 35 years again I had breast cancer and in those days we were in the hospital for 2 weeks, so we really got to know our wonderful nurses. I also was in a room with three other patients..each night the nurses came into our room and did their charts, and after that they would go across the street to a local pub!! So, we patients all decided once we got out of the hospital we would have a reunion with our nurses at that pub!!! We did and also ended up at my house for breakfast!
So thanks nurses!!!
Absolutely love you and your show!
