Jennie Garth - Tuesday, November 11

It's Veteran's Day and Bonnie honors the men and women in the service. She'll introduce you to Patrick and Patty Horan. Patrick recently returned from Iraq where he suffered a traumatic head injury, their courage during his recovery is truly an inspirational story. Jennie Garth, who resurrected her role in the newly revamped '90210' stops by the '90232' (that's the City of Culver City's zip code where we tape the show.) She'll share how the cast is getting along and what she's been doing to help save our environment. Raven-Symone has grown up in front of our eyes - from 'The Cosby Show' to 'That's So Raven.' She's here to show Bonnie some memory book making tips from her online instructional video.

My husband was on that deployment with Pat. Patty and I went to college together and she was a great friend to me. She is also a phenomenal wife with a ton of courage! It is so nice to see that they are doing so well. I miss them both.

Hi Bonnie,

My name is Bonnie too. We couldn't get your show in our area, but many friends and relatives were taping your interview with Patty & Pat Horan.

I was able to go on YouTube today and saw the entire interview. Patty is my daughter and she and Pat have been through a horrendous ordeal with may obstacles. The doctors, PT's, OT's and other support personnel in both RIC and Casa Colina have been phenomenal. It definitely has been a team effort.

Your compassion and love for our soldiers and wives in the military is very apparent and the interview tugged at my heart.
You made it so easy for them to speak about their story. Before Patty went for the taping she called and was so excited but had some concerns.

I said, "Patty, you and Pat can help so many people by doing this interview and showing Pat's progress and providing information about untapped resources. Hearing your story of "Hope" may give others more motivation to keep fighting for their ongoing recovery.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this segment, because at times with the day in and day out routine it is hard to see the progress. Your witnessing and showing photos and other family and friends that haven't seen Pat in a while is proof of how far he has come.

I am so proud of both of them and pray for them and everyone else in the military that is protecting our freedoms. Until it comes into your own family, you truly don't understand the sacrifices these young men and women are giving for their country. The passion they have for their country and strong beliefs in what they are doing is incredible.

Many kudos!!!

Bonnie from Richmond

Hi Bonnie-
Thank you so much for having Pat and Patti Horan on your Veterans Day show. I was friends with them from high school and college days. I was so glad to see how much progress Pat has made. I know they have both been working everyday to get this far. Hopefully this is just the beginning!

Thank you again,
Teresa Smith

Hi Bonnie!

I was in your audience at the Veteran's day show. My husband has been in the military for 22 years. My daughter was the one you spoke to and went to meet Raven. (thanks for that embarrassing moment, I try my hardest to make as many of those possible atleast that's what she thinks! LOL, and you played right into it!)
Anyway, this was not my first time on your show and I just wanted to tell you that I think you and your crew are most wonderful. Not only do you "come off" as being friendly and genuine through the TV but you are just as friendly in person. I want people to know that you are real and just precious. Your show is special and I pray that you are able to continue on through the years!
Thanks for making Veteran's day special for my family. It's not something I will soon forget; nor will my daughter! You should see her facebook page! It's gone crazy with Lauren sightings!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Sonja

I was so excited when you started your show I have been a fan of yours for years. I am watching a taped show on Patrick and his wife. It kind of scares me because my son is going over to Iraq in Feb. So I proud and scared at the same time. You are so wonderful with your guests thank you for that!!

Been a dedicated watcher since you've been on. My wife and I love the way you treat your guests and special people. Example - the special recognition you gave the wives of our service personel, really touched home. For those of us who have served we thank you for those we feel are our heros. Thanks again for an outstanding show.

Hello! I was watching your show on Tuesday and saw 2 people I went to college with...Pat and Patti! It had been years since I have seen them. I am only an acquaintance but knew a lot of their friends from Richmond, Virginia. I would like to get in contact with them. Please help me out. Thank you!

Bonnie,

I am so thrilled about your show! I stumbled upon it one day and was pleasantly surprised with the tone of it. I've continued to watch as often as possible. The Veteran's Day show was so wonderful, as is every show you do. You always treat your guests so respectfully, and ask the most appropriate questions. It is a breath of fresh air to be able to watch a show where the host is so obviously a proud American who holds God and country dear. Thank you so much for the show. I look forward to it every day, and have recommended it to my friends. It's such a wonderful alternative to the other trash that's on at the same time. You have brought decency and excellence back to daytime TV.

Dear Bonnie,
Your Veteran's Day show was special. We all need to honor and support our military every day. I love to say "Thank you for serving" to any military personnel I come across. There have been many in our families who have served for two generations including my husband. They saw it as their patriotic duty. God bless our military and their families.
Your show's opening is the cutest ever and quite unique. Is that really your niece's voice? She is adorable. People still want to know about your coffee/tea cup? When are you going to reveal the information on the bottom? Everyone on today's show was very good. Can't wait for tomorrow! Peace, a daily viewer

Hi Bonnie, Your show with Traumatic Brain Injury was very good. I hope it brought more awareness to your viewers of our many military who have suffered this war injury. My brother Sgt. Alec Giess was one of the first to come back from Iraq with his TBI. (12-16-03) He spent most of 2004 in the VA Hospital in Palo Alto, CA recovering, and getting wonderful care. He was made famous in newspaper articles, and People Magazine, which still hang in the hallway of the hospital. He still lives everday with the effects of a brain injury that truly changed his life. The Army retired him with 25yrs. and a disability. (He once had a sucessful business in Oregon). His family, and friends give him support as he continues to work with doctors and counselors, and cope with what is his life.

Thank-you for your Military Family Support too.
My son is a U.S Marine presently serving in Al asad Iraq.

As usual, another wonderful show. What a touching and inspiring salute to veteran's everywhere. AND who doesn't love Raven Symone?
But most of all, Bonnie..you are magical, funny and sincere. True Chicagoan features, right? God bless you! Love your show and when you come to Chicago to tape, I'm putting in my request for tickets NOW!! Happy Thanksgiving Bonnie and staff!

Bonnie and fans,

Thank you for having us on the show it was an exciting and memorable experience for us. We too think it is fantastic that you dedicated a show to our servicemen and women on Veterans day.
It is very important to remember and honor those who sacrifice so much for this great country.

We are just thrilled by the response from the show. What an unexpected gift. Thank you all for your blessings and advise. Thank you so much for the site about the dogs! And we will look into
the horse therapy as well.

The Organizations that have been good to us through Pat's recovery are:

Casa Colina Rehab Hospital Foundation
Salute Inc. out of Chicago
The Walter Reed Society
Air Compassion for Vets
The Fisher House/ Hero Miles
The Yellow Ribbon Fund
Operation Home Front

To answer the question about Pat's headgear at the time of injury. Believe it or not he was wearing his helmet. The bullet broke his chin strap by his temple. The helmet fans out right around the ear and somehow that is exactly where he was hit. The bullet snuck into the helmet. It is quite remarkable that Pat made it back. There is not a day that goes by that we aren't all very grateful for his recovery.

God Bless you and all those who serve
Happy Veterans Day!
Pat and Patty Horan

What a wonderful show today (again) with the best audience we could hope for. This is the only show I have seen (ever) that was not a USO specific show and has been able to truly include the military and show real empathy at the same time AND still be fun. Bravo to everyone.

Boo Hiss to the newspapers and other media that barely covered this Veterans Day. Take a lesson from this show. You can still honor someone and make people smile at the same time without all the politics.

I tape your show everyday. As you mentioned of another show today, this is a great show to watch to just "get away" and have some fun. Too bad it's only an hour but I guess you guys want to see your families and have a life too haha! THANK YOU.

Hi Bonnie! I tell my husband on the regular basis that I want to be your friend. :) I've told people for years that you're my favorite actress. Your personality is magnetic!
On a more serious note, I want to sincerely thank you for showing respect to our Veterans. As a daughter of a Vietnam Vet, I've been raised to show deep respect for our military and the sacrifices they make. I feel that other talk shows talk about this special day because they have to, you do it because you want to. Thank you.

Just want to let people know how to find some things on the site. So many are saying that they cant find info on things you have talked about on the show. On the home page you just go to that days show and click more info. This is where the link for Raven is and Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation. Hope this helps

Colleen

hi Bonnie - luv luv your show, I am an RN too and live in a Chicago subhurb and todays show (Veterans Day) was very special. I wanted to send a card to a veteran but I missed what you said at the end of the show - I look all over the internet but couldn't find it. I really love you and your show and especially the compassion & friendlyness that you show you quests - I can tell you a good RN - I guess the qualities never go away. I go to Northwestern Hospital and RIC for my job because I am a worker's compensation case manager. So I go talk to the orthopedic/neurosurgeons all the time to get information on the patients. So I guess you and your work are expecially close to my heart because we both are nurses and you know we all kindreds of spirit. Love all your movie work and I really love your show and your mom -she's a riot..thanks for everything Jackie

Bonnie, thank you for sharing your day with our veterans and their spouses. Your show was just wonderful.

I do have several family member who served in the Army (Vietnam and Gulf War), TN Army National Guard and the Navy, and was blessed they made it home. I recently lost a former coworker in Iraq, Cpt. Darrick Wright from Nashville, TN, who served in the Army Reserve. His wife Katina is expecting their first child any day now. Your heartfelt words and the words from the families you spoke with gave me an idea of what they deal with on a daily basis.

Thanks again for sharing these families with us. Thanks to all veterans from past and present who provide freedom to us all. God Bless you and your families.

THANK YOU for such a moving show honoring those who serve. I was in tears when you spoke to Patrick and his wife. Sadly in our busy lives, no matter what your opinion is of the war, we tend to forget the pain and suffering that is going on everyday for those who serve. My prayers go to the families that live every day very aware of what their loved ones deal with. Bonnie, you are such a sweet and loving person. You are so genuine with your feelings. I record your show everyday. I am a widow that works with special needs preschool age children. I enjoy being able to relax in the evening watching your show.

Hi Bonnie and others who matter,

I can't tell you enough how much I enjoy your show. It's fun and entertaining. Thank God the election is over, but I refuse to go back to the other day time shows because the forgot how to entertain without trying to push their political views on me. It really gets old fast. Tell me where to write so this wonderful show does not get cancelled. I have always loved Bonnie Hunt and her personality is perfect. Let me know if you get this so I know my point was heard and if there is another person I need to write to so the show goes on and on. How refreshing

Thank you,
Peggy Kepner

Hi Bonnie, I've been a fan for a long time! But I want to let you know how moved I was by today's show. Every time you reached out to the military wives in the audience I found myself in tears. You are so warm and kind and yet you can be so very funny. Keep doing what you do so well. The entertainment industry needs more like you. You lift spirits and make people happy without resorting to cheap tricks or pandering to the audiences whose homes you enter. God Bless. Cetta
