Jennie Garth - Tuesday, November 11

It's Veteran's Day and Bonnie honors the men and women in the service. She'll introduce you to Patrick and Patty Horan. Patrick recently returned from Iraq where he suffered a traumatic head injury, their courage during his recovery is truly an inspirational story. Jennie Garth, who resurrected her role in the newly revamped '90210' stops by the '90232' (that's the City of Culver City's zip code where we tape the show.) She'll share how the cast is getting along and what she's been doing to help save our environment. Raven-Symone has grown up in front of our eyes - from 'The Cosby Show' to 'That's So Raven.' She's here to show Bonnie some memory book making tips from her online instructional video.

Dear Bonnie as a retired Navy vet of 24 years I just wanted to thank you for the honoring of the Vets in the US Military who served and are still serving. It makes me fell that my time serving was not wasted when I see people like yourself who appreciates the job that the American service men and women do. I come from a family of ten children and I learned a lot from my father who served in WWII and he is still proud of the time he spent in the Army. I just wanted to say thank you

Thank you, Bonnie, for having the courage to stand for military families today. Thank you for setting yourself apart from a myriad of other talk show hosts by doing so. Many of us view Veteran's Day as just another day off, but you focused us on the true meaning: honoring all of those who protect our country and our freedom. Thank you, Bonnie, and thank you to all the women in the audience and the families they represent. I appreciate your courage to be military wives, supporting your spouses as they sacrifice everything on behalf of us. Blessings and thanks.

I was surprised to see the piece about Casa Colina. My son is there for the same thing as your guest. The difference is we live in Kentucky and Michael is there at Casa Colina. Thank you. We need all the reassurance that he is in a good place. Thank You from the Fluharty Family

Where can I find the Raven-Symone memory making dvd. Really enjoyed the show and would love to get the dvd.

Thanks,
Lynda

Hi Bonnie,

Was off today for Veteran's Day and was just excited to have the day off. Your show reminded me of why we have this day off. Thank you for that reminder. Thank you to all of the families that have sacrificed. You are all the real hero's

To Patrick and Patty and other service people who have sacrificed for our country's freedom!

July 14, 2008 I was diagnosed with an agressive breast cancer and after the shell shock began to settle, I remembered the life altering experiences our service people have been returning home with and have used this as my inspiration during my journey to recovery! My breast cancer treatment is only a few months of inconvenience, however Patrick, Patty and others are living life changing circumstances. Best wishes to your continued recovery!

THANK YOU for your service and courage!!

Dear Bonnie. I was very touched by Pat and Patty's story and know there are hundreds of more just like their's. A few months ago, I contacted the VA to get some suggestions on donating. In the last 2 months, I have rec'd 7 different request for donations from different Veteran Organizations. Some include free gifts that I will not use unless we send something back to them but we just cannot give to all anymore. Even $5.00 adds up when you have so many different organizations sending several times a year. I remember the Vietnam Vets and what they went through, then there is my Dad's connection to WWII, now the current 2 wars. HELP! Can you make any recommendations as to what organization is concentrating on the needs of the men and women coming home now that need our help? The VA would not be specific. Thanks.

I love love love your show.. I especially appreciated how much time you devoted to the military wives today. While our husbands/wives are deployed, it is our responsibility to keep things going as normally as possible. Thank you for showing that you care about us. We have good and bad days, but it helps when you know someone cares and takes TIME to understand .. Thank you Bonnie .....

FOR PATRICK AND PATTY-

What he REALLY needs w/ new seizure disorder: "SEIZURE RESPONSE DOG". Will make him able to be more self-reliant.

http://www.pawswithacause.org/

I've grown up with Epilepsy, and am still trying to get a sz. dog, they are not well advertised, therefore hard to acquire. YOU SAID you and SEARS would MAKE SURE he had what he needed to help him w/ his physical handicaps in his home.

Many dogs can see the seizures coming on, and warn the person to lay down BEFORE it starts!!! THIS would HELP HIM in his HOME, in the STREET, in his local SHOPPING, WALKS, and PARKS. When you have a seizure disorder, being able to walk to the nearest park by yourself is a h.u.g.e. deal.

I'm pretty sure SEARS has given sight dogs before on the Extreme Makeover, Home Edition. PLEASE encourage them to help now. THANK YOU.

Bonnie,

Here is a poem that I found on the internet for veterans day.

Thank you for such a wonderful show..

You have such a great big heart and all that you are and all that you do it will all come full circle right back to you...

You are the best ....

Remember

American soldiers sacrifice so much,

All for the freedom of our country.

Leaving their families and heading off to war,

Not knowing what the future holds.

Working day and night

Determined to stay strong.

Watching friends be killed every day

Letters from home inspiring them to keep fighting

So little is given to them

Although there is little to do,

For those who have died in war

We can still remember

Remember all the men who have died.

Remember all the battles fought

Remember all the tears families cried

Remember it was freedom the soldiers brought

To this very day soldiers are under-appreciated

Veterans Day is the day

For the dead, living, and fighting soldiers

To be remembered

A loyal Fan and loyal viewer.

Karen

Loved the show today, just like all of the shows, Bonnie Hunt is so good at everything she does, and now she has mastered the talk show! Keep up the great work!

Hi Bonnie and the gang!
Well I was in tears today watching your show. Thank you for the recognition to the military and their families that so much deserved!!! It was great!
Also, I loved the Halloween show. The kids costumes were adorable. We dressed up at work on Halloween. I wore jeans & a sweater. When asked, I responed that I was an IDENTITY CRISIS-a 35 year old in a 59 year old body! Maybe next year I will dress as hurricane reporter, of course I will have to grow more hair.

Thanks for bringing smiles to all of us who adore your show!

First time watching the show today. Great with the Vets and their family's. I won't miss another show if I can help it.

Carl

I love you show so much that it is the only time of the day I actually sit down and watch TV. Thank you for making my days with your delightful humor and interesting people. Love your show!!!!

Bonnie, I just happened to catch your show today
Nov/11-08 and heard Patty & Pat's story. This
has brought back memories of my own family story. My hushand was injured via a hunting accident and I noticed that Pat had similiar injuries as my hushand. Effecting the right side of his body - not being able to speak/limited movement/memory loss...etc..
It will be 23 years Nov 23 and please tell them that it does get better and to never give up the faith.
When my husband came to terms with his disablilty he never looked back.

So it may take him a few more minutes to do a chore but he'll get it done.

HORSES have been an inspiration to my husband and maybe they should look into this as therapy.
Since being on horseback I notice that his moral/quailty of life has improved and the family is much more happy.

the only complaint I hear from him --- "they don't make very much for left handed people" -- so he has to come up with his own devices to suit whatever he is doing.

Please pass the therapy for horses to Pat & Patty and God Bless.

To a Brighter Future.
Silvia

Dear Bonnie,
Thank you for showing these two great
human beings. They have been through so
much in th name of freedom. When Patrick
was in injured,no one thought he would
be able to do most of what he has been
able to acomplish (with Patty's help)
They are one fantastic example of todays
young people.
In gratitude,
Cele

I just want to say THANK YOU so much for the Veteran's Day show. I have seen other shows and celebrities talk about the importance of the military but never have I seen or heard such a heart felt message. Your show and feelings were so very authentic and I can not tell you what that means to me and I know all the other families watching your show. It was so important to all the military families around the world to be able to see this and be so honored. My husband is currently deployed and I also served 10 yrs active duty in the US Navy. So I do know all too well all the difficulties that go along with being a military wife an mom. I love your show and I will be forever grateful for your dedication to all the military families mothers, wives and children serving around the world.

Thank You again,
Michelle Schlegel

Hi Bonnie God Bless you and your show it's not over yet and I had to get on here and tell you I am always going to watch your show because of Pat and Patty. I too am a veteran, also disabled and no one seems to care until you came along and said about Casa (forget the name please forgive me) When I was injured there were no places like that, My Dad was in WW2, Korea and Viet Nam, My Brother was in Vietnam, I was in Iran during the hostage crisis. Now my Grand Son 18 years old arrived in Iraq Just this week. It is so wonderful to know that people do care so many just pass you by and it would be nice to have people salute the flag or at least put their hands over their heart we did not want to go to war but our country asked us too, it's ok most of us do not want any praise for what we did we just want respect for our COUNTRY and our FLAG. Thank you for letting me send this to you I would be honered to meet you in person. My wife of 38 years has been by my side every day of my life and we were child hood sweethearts. we met in 1959 and I married her on Dec 12 1970. bye bye Miss Bonnie you are the best
Steve

Thank you Bonnie,I have a son that served in the Navy for 8 years and is now in the reserves and has a job trying to keep our troops save, I have a daughter that served 4 years in the Navy and is married to a great guy that is serving in the Navy as an officer and is going overseas soon. Sometime I feel that to many people have forgot our troops. I love them all and GOD BLESS THEN ALL.

Thanks Bonnie,
I have always loved your authenticity. It was easy to see on your show today that you really respect and care for our veterans. I was extremely moved by the husband and wife, "Pat and Patty". God bless them and all those who served and are serving for us in foreign lands. And God bless you, Bonnie, for honouring Veterans Day on your show (we call it Remembrance Day in Canada and most Canadian tv networks are there live broadcasting the ceremonies that take place at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month at the National War Memorial in our capitol, Ottawa. FYI: this was the 90th anniversary of the armistice [ceasefire] of WWI "The War to End All Wars"...if only that were true).
