Jennie Garth - Tuesday, November 11

It's Veteran's Day and Bonnie honors the men and women in the service. She'll introduce you to Patrick and Patty Horan. Patrick recently returned from Iraq where he suffered a traumatic head injury, their courage during his recovery is truly an inspirational story. Jennie Garth, who resurrected her role in the newly revamped '90210' stops by the '90232' (that's the City of Culver City's zip code where we tape the show.) She'll share how the cast is getting along and what she's been doing to help save our environment. Raven-Symone has grown up in front of our eyes - from 'The Cosby Show' to 'That's So Raven.' She's here to show Bonnie some memory book making tips from her online instructional video.

I live in Bucyrus, Ohio and I love your show! I watched all of the segment on Patrick today. Of course my imagination got the better of me and I was wondering what sort of hat he was wearing at the time of his injury. If it was a hat, and other wear them while doing work in a war zone, maybe they should switch to wearing helmets all of the time.

What do you and others think about this idea?

Thank you,

Eileen

I was ready to walk out the door for an appointment when I saw Patty come out so I stayed and that whole segment brought tears to my eyes.
May God bless them and you Bonnie...I have missed seeing you and am so glad to have you back on an entertaining show. No controversy, Just fun. I love it all. .Thanks so very much.
Love you...
Lois

Bonnie and Staff..Your Veteran's Day tribute was really heartfelt. I volunteer for a grass roots operation in Meadville, Pennsylvania called "Project Support Our Troops." Monthly we pack and send 60-100 boxes to the troops overseas and are hoping to pack 600+ boxes for Christmas. I am attaching part of an email that details some of the things our troops would love to have this holiday season. Email is below and signed by one of the two women that run this organization with all volunteers and donated items and monies, and have done so for close to ten years while working fulltime ... (Email starts here)
The below list was requested by the wife of a Sgt. stationed "somewhere" in Iraq. The wife mentioned that her husband said "I hope this isn't asking for too much".

My first thought???
We will get them everything they have asked for!!! And if we can't? It won't be for lack of trying! On with our Mission folks!!

Below are their requests:

Pillows (they are using their ACU's as pillows) (Standard or 1/2 size - remember, we have to mail these! NO DOWN PILLOWS)
Coffee
Coffee Mugs (plastic, insulated)
Creamer Packs
Sugar Packs
Crystal Light Drink Mix
Starburst
Beef Jerky
Envelopes
Stamps
Playing Cards
Gum
Hot Cocoa Mix

If you are interested in helping out with this special request, please contact myself or Laurie. We need to keep this separate from the general mailings as this is going to one unit.

We know we can do this everyone so myself and Laurie thank you in advance for your continued support and the support you have shown over the past 8 years.

Take Care and God Bless.
I look forward to hearing from some of you!

Thank you so much for honoring Patrick today & his wife - as the mother of a serviceman & the mother-in-law of a military wife, I appreciate your compassion & commitment to them & what they are giving to our country.

I was moved to tears by the story of Patrick & Patty Horan and certainly an inspiring one to so many of us who face disabling diseases, in my case Parkinson's. I will strive to remember their story especially when I start feeling sorry for myself. My prayers to them and all of the military who have sacrificed themselves for us and have to struggle every day with the changing events of their lives. Thank you for allowing them to share their story.

Bonnie,
We can't get your show in Richmond Va. Please post your interview with Pat and Patty Horan today! They are great friends of ours and we would love to see it!!!

Thanks!

How do we go about emailing or mailing our Thanks to Patty and Patrick Horan?

Hey Bonnie – LOVE your show – I watch everyday. I am so Lucky to be right on the Indiana and Ohio line, so if I miss your show at 11:oo on the Indiana Station – I can watch it at 2:00 on the Ohio Station. You are so natural and funny.

Your Show is on right now – I was IRONING SHEETS as I watched – then you said tomorrow you were going to ask the one girl from Amazing Race about ironing sheets for her husband. Gee, I know I missed a lot of things while we were raising our family – I guess I missed the time when you were suppose to stop IRONING SHEETS – this brings up a question – What else was I to stop doing? I am getting OLDER and I seem to be slowing down – maybe if I gave up more of these tasks, I would have more time to do fun things. Please make a list of things young adults DO NOT DO THESE DAYS.

Thanks for your help – always watching - Donna

Dear Bonnie- Please, please please, stop using "you know"in your conversations with others (off the show, too) & there many others in public life who should do this also Ron Towle

Good Morning Bonnie
You touched my heart this morning when the War Vet was on your show
I am an emotional person and for a man I shouldn't say that
But I cried when you gave the Vet something from your heart as well as the people that donated the items
I have just started to watch your show and to tell you the truth I Love your show
One day I will be a guest on one of your shows to tell you a bit about my life
Short story
I have held down 100 positions(jobs) saved 4 lives (from drowning at different times
have owned over 100 cars --But only have been married 2 times
Want to be an actor at 60 years of age (always wanted to act)

I was at an early meeting and missed the show. Can you please post the video of the interview with Pat and Patty?

Love your show. I need to know some more info about Sears helping vets. Do they help families of veterans who have died in Iraq fix up their homes? Thanks

Bonnie, I absolutely love your show. I wanted to comment on your guests The Horan's, they are an amazing couple with an enormous amount of strength and love for each other. Being a nurse, I have seen the effects that TBIs have on not only the patient but also the family of those affected. Patty should be very proud of herself for making her lifelong commitment to Pat and by honoring her committment. So often, spouses can't handle the pressure, or the change and struggle that their spouse is going through and they walk. They are a very amazing couple. Thank you for having them on the show, they make you sit back & realize that the petty things we argue about in our marriage is nothing compared to what they are enduring. God Bless them both and Patrick, thank you for honoring our country.

I loved todays show. Raven has so got her act together/ I am an Army/Marine Mom. My daughter was in the Marines for 6 years. My son in the Army just returned from Iraq this summer. He and my daughter both served in Afganistan, thankfully not at the same time. Thanks so much for mentioning that females are vets too! Love your show.

Hi, Bonnie, I saw part of your show today about Patty and Patrick. I am retired Navy, my two sons were in the Navy, one in opps off of Afghanistan, the other working with special forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. My younger son, Shaun, after training Navy Seals for 5 years is now working for Blackwater and may, rather is, going back to Afghanistan for special opps there. Being his father, I don't want him to go because he has a wife (pregnant) and 1 1/2 year old son and I want to grow old knowing him and spending time with him. I know, this is selfish on my part.
Anyway, the main reason I am writing you is that I've been a builder for almost 40 years and now teach school at a local junior college and do little jobs by myself from time to time. Is there some way that I can locally, or closeby, help some wounded or disabled veteran in some building project that is paid for by donations and not out of their pockett so I can show a little bit of my appreciation for what they have given for my freedom and this country. I have two young teenage daughters so need to be close to them till they go off to college and I'm married to a great woman.
I have 40 years experience in the construction industry and tons of tools. Is ther any way I can be used to help?

Thanks,
Cliff
