Hi Bonnie,
I am thoroughly enjoying your show and try not to miss it. I too grew up in a big family and can relate to many of your stories.
I do have an observation from last Monday's show that might be of interest. You were trying to guess people's resolutions. One gentleman whose name I think was Eric said he wanted to be more patient with his children. That is a noble goal. I was a bit concerned however that he also mentioned his wife "doesn't work" she stays home with the kids. Isn't funny that Eric has to make a resolution in order to maintain his relatioship with his children. I would suggest he give his wife a bit more credit for the "work" that she does taking care of thier children. We didn't see her having to make a resolution in order to interact with her children. The fact that Eric has such difficulty in relating to his children only confirms that he has no clue as to what his wife does and how grateful he should be for the "work" that she does.
Just some thoughts.
I would like to thank Kathy Bates for being courageous enough to talk about her cancer on national tv. I am a twenty five year survivor of ovarian cancer.
It is rare to read about someone, much less see an interview, with someone who has survived.
Many thanks to Kathy Bates for opening up this very personal part of her life. In doing so she has given women an essential ingredient in their recovery. Hope. There really is life after cancer and Kathy Bates is a shining example.
Thank you,
Lynn
Hi Bonnie,
I don't ususally e-mail much, but thought I'd send you one for two reasons.
1) I love your show. It is a refreshing change from controversial issues as seen on the View, and other such shows. I think it's nice to have some light-hearted talk once in a while. You are a breath of fresh air and your mom is precious. Thank you for not becoming political and opinionated. I personally don't care what most stars think on issues anyway. Entertain me and lighten up these rough times with a little levity.
thank you so much.
2) My other reason for writing is that I have seen your previews for certain days and twice they have advertised David Archelletto. I can't remember the first date, but I watched and he was not on the show. Then I saw a preview for Jan. 5, showing him as a guest, and watched the next day only to see he again was not on the show. What's up with this? I really enjoyed his singing and following him thru Americal Idol. Please let me know what's happening with this.
Thanks.
Please keep up the good work. Also, thinking of your concern expressed to Kathy Bates for ovarian cancer of someone close to you. Pray all is well in that.
Sincerely,
Marvine Hurst
After watching Monday's show with Kathy Bates I just felt the need to write to her. I hope you will pass this on to her.
Dear Miss Bates,
I was watching Bonnie Hunts show Monday and heard about your battle with Ovarian Cancer.
I lost my Mom in February of 2007 (wow it’s been almost two years) after a three year battle with Ovarian Cancer. I have seen and heard others talk about winning their fight and to say the least I was angry over the fact that I lost my Mom, but for some reason when I heard you talk about it, all I could think was Thank God.
Don’t ask me why, but for some reason I felt the needed to tell you about this. Anyway I was so pleased to see that you seem to be doing well and I will pray for you.
God Bless you Miss Bates.

Hi Bonnie,
I love your show and havent missed an episode.
I was wondering if the censors caught the plumbers butt shown by a crew member just prior to your introducing Kathy Bates on mondays show?
Hi Bonnie,
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your show and I watch whenever I can.
I am 70 years old and I love the relationship you have with your Mom. It reminds me of how my own daughter and I interact with each other. We both laugh a lot and have fun every day. In fact, Bonnie, you and my Vanessa are the same age and are similar in that you are both kind, intelligent, sweet and beautiful and you both place a high value on the importance of family.
I have always loved your movies and am so glad I can find you on a daily basis.
Sending you best wishes for a Happy and Healthy 2009 and thanks for making so many people happy.
Sincerely,
Joyce Baker
Bonnie, It was finally so good to have a show talk about ovarian cancer and tell the symptoms of it. I am 55 and have been fighting this cancer for 2 yrs know. I am a total fighter of this cancer and have gone on walks in Chicago to raise money for ovarian cancer. It was a delight to watch this show and have Ms. Bates tell her story about it, which her symptoms are the same ones I had. Thank you again for talking about this type of cancer. I love your show. You are a breath of fresh air.

I did not know about Kathy Bates having Ovarian cancer. Ironically I was having chemotherapy for late stage Ovarian Cancer today during your show. I have been in treatment for 10 years this month.
I am sure glad you had her on your show as so much more awareness is needed for this disease. I would love for you to do a show on ordinary people trying to survive this disease.
I was fired from my job, lost my insurance, and my car is in such disrepair but somehow I manage to keep the faith and can say that in many ways cancer has been a blessing except for the financial aspect as I am not longer able to work.
I love your show Bonnie. You are so uplifting to me. Just great fun and a beautiful person inside and out. You are a breath of fresh air with all the junk on TV and I look foward to your show. It just makes me float away from the reality of what I am dealing with.
Keep up the good work and God bless you.
Sorry I missed the Kathy Bates show - it's on at 2:00 AM here in Philly and I don't have the equipment to tape. Was hoping I could watch it on your website. I'm a 49 yr. old (turning 50 on 1/14 - yikes) Ovarian Cancer survivor currently going through treatment for recurrence after 8 years cancer free. I'm a fighter and staying positive. I thought you might enjoy another animal video. If you have not already seen it, this golden retriever and trainer are amazing.

Keep on keep'in on.

I am loving the show. Bonnie is a breath of fresh air! I hope it's on the air for years and years.
Bonnie I was wondering what's happened to your mug ? (floral one)
I've been looking everywhere for one like it. What make was it?
Love the show and the guests.
Make sure you don't have Cinnabons on the Carrie Fisher show as she might have a Star Wars moment.Ha Ha
RE:Brian Williams on the cover of the AARP magazine.
I'm 73 now but I'll tell you there was never a cover of that magazine that grabbed me like that one. Even us old broads get a charge out of a good looking guy, you know.
Now there is a man who should run for President. Intelligent, sincere, aware of all that is going on ... He's got my vote.
Loved the Brian Williams show! It was outstanding and Christine Lahti was wonderful as well. Since Christine is your neighbor, please ask her to call Mandy Patinkin and get Chicago Hope Seasons out on DVD. We loved that show and it should be on DVD. Also, where can I show my husband the dog and baby clip? Can you put it on the website? That was amazing! Keep doing what you do best! You have a kind heart and love people and you love to make America laugh!
Thanks Bonnie,

It was very inspiring to hear Kathy Bates talk about her experience with ovarian cancer. I only wish that she had mentioned the symptoms on air as they are very general and are often mistaken for other illnesses. Her point about women needing to be in tune with their bodies is so important. As a volunteer for an ovarian cancer organization, I urge all women to learn the symptoms of ovarian cancer (pelvic/abdominal pain, bloating, feeling full quickly after eating, and frequency/urgency of urination) and if they persist for more than two weeks to see a doctor (preferably a gynecologist).
Thanks for all you do for women's health.
Hi Bonnie: I DVR your show every day. I really enjoy watching it when I come home from a long day. You make me smile and laugh, what a great gift. I also enjoy the segments you do and hearing about your mom and your family. I love, respect and adore my family too. My Mom & Dad and little sister have gone to heaven and I miss them every day. I do my best to remember all the fun, silly, crazy times we shared and the happy laughter that surrounded us when they were with us. Cancer is a horrible, dreadful thing to deal with. Not only for the patient but for those around them the love and need them and want so, so desperately to take away all their pain and sorrow. We can't do that no matter how much we will it. All we can do is love them, see them and be available. My Mom died of lung cancer (I hate smoking with a all my being)I'm sure she knew about her cancer - long - long before she told us. She went into the hospital on Wednesday September 4th 1996 my older brother's birthday and died on Sunday September 8th with all 4 of us kids and her husband of 50 years by her side. This is a day I will never forget the sadness. But more so I will always recall and focus on the love she gave me and all the fun she brought into our lives. My Dad passed about a little over two years after that from a heart problem, Broken heart I'm sure. We lost my youngest sister in April of 2002. She had lived with multiple birth defects and "challenges" all her life and after my parents passed it was an uphill struggle for her. I miss them so very much and cherish every single moment and minute I spend with my sister and brother and all of our family. So whomever you may have as a loved one going through their challenges with cancer. My hopes and prayers are with them and you. Please keep on making us smile. My friend Rose gave me "the" most incredible gift this year. A small little ceramic plaque that reads - To the world you may be only one person... But to one person you may be the world. I am so, so, so very blessed. Again thank you for the smiles, with affection Bob
Dear Bonnie, In regard to your dyslexia, I just want you to remember "Pobody's Nerfect!"
Welcome back Bonnie! I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday.
I'm afraid we had 'Storm Watcher' going strong here in Texas today. After all, it is raining and the temp was hovering around freezing all day. Sooooo, they had to break in every 30 minutes to tell us that while there was no ice on the roads or bridges, the guardrails had ice forming on them. I actually saw 3 close-ups of ice on the guardrails on 2 different channels and also lots of wires with ice forming on them too! It was fascinating!
At least I didn't miss very much of the show as they quickly returned but I'm going to let the local channel know that we don't need so many updates.
I'm gearing up for Thursday when they say the temp will be in the high 70s and they can show us the ice melting on the guardrails!
Thanks for all the laughs Bonnie and God bless.
Pat
Hi Bonnie
Love your show. I have been a fan since I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in Sept. I had major surgery and began CHEMO. I am half way through my treatments and I have an excellent prognosis.
I really commend you for having Kathy Bates on your show today.
More women need to be informed of the vague symptoms of Ovarian Cancer. I hope to also be a survivor of this horrible disease and plan to be a spokes person and help to educate the public and DR's as what should not be ignored.
Keep on pushing for research and education on these horrible cancers of women. Let's all help to find cures and to have women diagnosed early to help save their lives.
Thanks for all your public awareness. I live on the East Coast or I would come in person to see your show.
Happy New Year,
Dale
Hi Bonnie,
I just have to applaud you on being the most sensitive, caring, compassionate, wittty, intelligent, empathtic, comical, teacher and beautiful talk show host ever to be on television. You are truly a breath of fresh air to the airways. I love how you always are addressing whatever is said and clarifying as the conversations go along. You also in a most unchallenging way help to educate those around you. (a true talent)
I have always enjoyed your work and loved when you and David Letterman would spare together in such a witty manner. I was looking forward to you show and it is all and more than I anticipated. Thanks Bonnie for brightening my day
