SHOW RECAP
Balthazar Getty ("Brothers and Sisters"): His grandfather was billionaire J. Paul Getty, but this guy has made a name for himself as a talented actor -- most recently as one of the Walker children on the hit ABC drama. What's happening with his character? See what he tells us!

Faryl Smith ("Faryl"): Before there was Susan Boyle, there was Faryl -- who became a British sensation because of the show "Britain's Got Talent." At the age of 13, her debut album is at the top of the UK charts and she'll perform one of Bonnie's favorite songs, "Ave Maria."

Gregg Breinberg: He's the music teacher at Staten Island's PS 22, and his choir gained international fame with their renditions of Tori Amos and Coldplay songs. Hear about the amazing work this inspiring teacher is doing -- and how he gets his kids so excited about music.

Am I the only person who questions the reason Bonnie would openly flirt with a guest who has been involved in an adulterous affair that has been splashed all over the news? I realize ours is not to judge, but this seemed a little odd to me. I can't really see the reason for even having him on the show much less flirting with a man who would put his family through what he has. Interesting choice, for sure.

Bonnie, I watched your May 7th episode where you recognized teachers, and it almost brought tears to my eyes. As of right now, I am approaching my final exams for my senior year of college - where I have been studying to be a teacher. In the fall I will begin student teaching, and then will (hopefully!) go on to be a kindergarten or first grade teacher. It was so wonderful to see you show your appreciation, not to mention all the guests you had sharing their stories and memories of school. It served as a perfect (and well-timed!) reminder of why we do what we do!
Much love and much thanks,
Emily

I have enjoyed your show from day one. I record your show daily and watch it when I get home from work. On today's show you had teachers in your audience. I appreciate that you acknowledged these dedicated people who teach our children and prepare them for the future.
My daughter is a first year teacher and will be graduating from UCLA with a master degree in June. She currently is teaching in the Los Angeles School District in a low income area. She works very hard. (Teaching isn’t a 40 hour work week). Needless to say I’m very proud of her. However at the end of June she, as well as thousands of other teachers, will be laid off. It is unfortunate for the teachers and much more unfortunate for the students who will be in over crowded classroom.

Bonnie you are a BLAST you get me ready for my boys getting home from school.Todays show was so inspiring for me with the music teacher he made me sob with his love for the kids.I want to dearly contact him for my son ho LOVES music and writes also. Bonnie you are the best and so genuine I love ye.We cant beat the IRISH am going home in June 18 my lads my hubby is v=over there working.YOU MOM IS SUCH A BLAST the show when you asked her " what te lookink down i had tear with the laughing. I can see why you are so great.MY love to you and the band lads geraldine xoxooxo

Hi Bonnie,
Just wondering who the heck you look and point at when you come out and look to your right. Since you do it everyday I can't be the only one who's wondering.

Hi Bonnie,
Loved the segment you did with your sister's students. It reminded me of the conversations
Art Linkletter and Allen Funt used to have with kids. Your personality is perfect for that kind of show, so why not sell the network a special? I'm 55 and used to love those shows and I'm sure I am not the only one who would be thrilled to see that type of show again. In spite of how much the world has changed since those days, it's refreshing to see that in ways that really matter...kids are still kids. Hope you'll do the kind of show I'm talking about because YOU won't "cast" it, make it fake or over produce it. Go for it! Happy Mother's Day to your Mom- she cracks me up!

Sue

Bonnie, I love your show. I feel I can relate to you. I am an RN too.
I am an optimist and I love your sense of humor. They say people who are funny and have a quick sense of humor are brilliant.I feel I have a quick wit too. I think you have to have a sense of humor if you work in healthcare or you'd cry all the time.
I am no longer able to work because of arthritis I decided on a new career, bionic woman. I was diagnosed when I was 30 and I am 56 now with both wrists fused with metal plates, both knees replaced and I am home recovering from my second shoulder replacement, so watch out. Maybe I can be hired as a testor for metal detectors. Actually I like getting probed at the airport but they never send the cute guy to do it.
I volunteer at a free clinic in my town because I miss nursing and am busy all the time. Most people don't know I have all these extra parts and with the economy in Michigan the way it is I may be worth more as scrap metal.
Keep up the good work.
I saw you on the Michael J Fox special, you are truely an optimist.

Love your show,
Pam from Michigan

National Nurses week is from now until May 13th...maybe the show has something planned for next week...

i was watching your episode i think from tuesday, and people wouldn't have to skip class or miss your show if you would just, i don't know, post the full episodes on your websit... it would be very convenient.. just a suggestion..

Well I wanted to see the full feature on the PS 22 Chorus, but I missed out on the show and did not TIVO the episode.. will I not have a way to see this? You guest it my son is in the chorus... the one with the very animated expressions in the rugby...

Hey Bonnie,
Just to let you know, you're kinda popular with us up here in Canada EH!
It's especially popular with us Toronto guys.
I bet if you came up during pride, you'd probably leave a lot more happy $$$$$
You and you producers should look.....
Seriously, same sex couples up here are falling for you....a great lucrative market
Just some free info for you guys...

Dear Bonnie:

Yesterday on your show one of your guest mention a program on the Travel Channel called "Living with the Machiguena" Upon reserching this program I found a video where Mark has leave his monkey, you might want to put on your show...might make you cry...

Hello Bonnie.
I want to say I really enjoy your show and admire your style and your way with your guest and how you care for your friends and family.
I was however, really shocked that there was no mention of nurses week on your show. When I was a girl I just wanted to help and I thought of becoming a teacher but thank God my aunt was an LVN and encouraged me to become an RN. I have been a Nurse for 19years Bonnie.
I teach everyday. I teach doctors, patients, and nurses and most important new mommies and daddies. I have worked the 7pm shift to 7am shift my whole career and believe me night shift hardly gets its due. When you make this right Bonnie and honor nurses and I know you will. Please mention the night crew.
Well off to work to hopefully birth another healthy baby so that it can enjoy a classroom someday.
Ciao. LisaRN
PS Happy Nurses Week to all the Nurses out there.

Joanne,
You are incorrect. Balthazar Getty did not have an affair with LeeAnn Rimes. It was with Sienna Miller.

Bonnie, What size are you? I am going to send you some new clothes. Listen to your viewers and change the jacket!

KRM

Just wanted to make sure you got my message about my disappointment about you bringing up Kate and John Gosselin on your show and his possible affair and then having Balthazar Getty (who had 4 children) on the next day who allegedly had an affair with LeeAnn Rimes. Very disappointed that you mentioned one and not the other. I usually concur with everything you and your mom say. Still love your show and never miss it. This is my first criticism.

Dear Bonnie,
I've been a teacher for 24 years ( mostly first grade), but due to MS and a complicated medical saga( that no doctor can seem to figure out), I've been unable to be in the classroom over the past 20 months. Your segment with your sister's students brightened and encouraged my day in this period of trusting and waiting to return someday (soon I hope) to my 1st graders. Six and seven year old children are bright lights of reality, insight, and fun! They NEVER get old to be around. I miss them incredibly! Your sister's strength and grace to teach, even with her RA, is an inspiration and blessing. Thanks again for that segment and the transparency you model everyday for your viewers. I truly believe your show is helping me to heal and move forward in a challenging season of my life.

P.S. Zoe's response about Joe was hilarious!

Hi Bonnie And Charlie,
Todays Show was Perfect...That Little Girl,Has the most beautiful voice...She is Going Places, isnt she !!
I watch you every Day, The Hour Goes Too Fast. It is always Interesting...
Thanks For Giving Us Such warm and Real Shows.
Love You Guys...
VB

Hello, Bonnie I'm so sorry that people CAN'T SEEM TO LOOK PAST YOUR CLOTHING AND SEE THAT CLOTHING DOES NOT MAKE A PERSON WHOM THEY ARE. You are beauiful in everyway on the inside is what counts the most. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK THAT YOU AND YOUR STAFF DOES. There is so much more going on in the world today that people need to come together and be caring and gentle to one another before it's to late. Love ya

Bonnie, with your implosive since of humor, unfortunately, you are a well kept "secret". You can make any guest feel more welcome than a honey bee around honey. I,ve said it before; I love me some, Gracie Allen, some Moms Mabley, some Carol Burnett and now, some Bonnie Hunt!

on today's show you were talking about "the hills". you said audrina spent the nite in brody's room and "nothing happened". that is incorrect. they both admitted to their friends that something did indeed happen. audrina set the whole thing up, deliberately staying in his room in the hopes something would happen.

as far as jon and kate go, of course you are not wrong talking about it on air. they signed up for this. now jon wants to end the show, but kate likes all the attention. if kate wants all the money and attention, she has to take the negative too.
