Ingredients
4 mangos, peeled, pitted and sliced; divided
1/2 stick butter, melted
2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 stick butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 °F.
Butter a 9" x 2" round cake pan. Pat the slices of mango dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, stir together the butter and the brown sugar. Spread evenly in the 9" x 2" pan. Arrange the mango pieces from two mangos to your liking on the sugar mixture, reserving the rest for mango puree. Set aside.
Into a bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. In another bowl with an electric mixer, cream the butter and the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla.
In a food processor, puree remaining mangos to make ¾ cup. Add the flour mixture alternately in batches with the pureed mangos, beginning and ending with the flour mixture and beating well after each addition. Pour the batter into the pan, spreading it evenly, and bake the cake in the middle of the oven for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan on a rack for 15 minutes, run a thin knife around the edge and invert onto a platter.

Hello webmaster,
I would like to share with you a link, write to alarroste@mail.ru
Bonnie,
We are Dean Sturts grandparents from Ohio. We truly appreciate your kindness toward our grandson and helping him overcome his stage fright. You definitely brought out Dean's true sweet spirit.
Thank You!
I think your show is heartwarming! I especially love the segments with your sweet "mama" and the kids you've had on are so great!! My family thinks I'm starting to get addicted to your new show - that's okay, you're such a cheery part of my day!!
Hi Bonnie,
Love your show. I remember Cuddly Duddley.
My mom won him and his cardboard airplane probably in late 1960's. but my little sister sat in the airplane and destroyed it right away. Cuddley we had for years. Thanks for bringing back some great memories of that golden dog.
I can't wait to find out who you set Toni from The Amazing Race up with. She is a lot of fun. If you get some good prospects this will be great to watch. Give us an update on how it is going.
for the caption contest, i could not find it on the website, but here is one for you, the picture of hillary clinton and obama with his hand on her back, the caption reads......
oh look, bill is on the floor...."push"
I just had to say I absolutely LOVED Chef Dean. He was so cute on there. I'm going to have to try out his recipe, too. What's he cooking next? :)
Dear Bonnie, love the show! Chef Dean was adorable & the Amazing Race is my favorite reality show too & I was hoping Mom & son would go to the end. I am trying to decide if I should get another dog or not. My lab passed in Jan. 2002 & I never expected it to affect me so much. Everytime I see a black lab, I want to cry. My husband has wanted to get another dog for years but everytime I get close to saying 'yes', I back out. My sister just got 2 new Golden Ret. puppies after they lost their's in January and insists that I need a dog. I have had a lot of loss in my life & just do not know if I want to open my heart again. Help!
Dear Bonnie,
I've been a fan for a long time. I have also been a fan of As The World Turns. They put your talk show opposite ATWT, well no contest!! I tuned you in immediately. I love your show because it's fresh & very spontaneous. I just hope you keep it that way. Please stay away from the makeovers(yick)old hat. It's so heartening to see how you share the spot light. I also like the way you treat your crew. You all seem to be genuine friends. I think that's the secret to any successful show.
What comes through my tv is a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart---lots of experience and very down to earth.
Carolyn
Hi Bonnie,
I don't usually watch daytime television because I sleep days and work nights. I have not been sleeping very well lately as there has been so much going on in my families life lately. The last month has been really hard for all of us, especially my daughter. She lost her home last month and my Son in law, daughter and grandson made it out in seconds and lost everything including their family pet. I think sometimes things take time to heal but make you stronger. I'm just thankful I have my family for the Holidays because there are so many that can't celebrate with their family for one reason or another. Anyway, I came across your show one day when I couldn't sleep and I just loved it. You are very funny and at the same time have a big heart. It's nice that your so close to your family. I loved the little boy that was on your show today. What an inspiration to see such talent at such a young age. He will go far in life. I love Bill Pullman and George Lopez what a character he is, he's so funny. I hope you alway have your talk show it really lifts my spirit when I'm feeling down not to mention I usually get a good laugh......
Thank you,
Sheryl

Bonnie:
Love your show, it was especially fun today. You are a
bright spot in my day. I hope your on for a long time.
Your so refreshing and quick with your comments and
expressions. Keep it up. Where is that beautiful mug.
Missed seeing it today. Also how lucky you are to still
have your mom and close family. She is a real asset to
the show. You deserve it.

Bon Bon,
Don't like the silver glasses, you look best without them all together.
Love your set. More Christmas decorations needed!
Love your memories of living in Chicago as I was on Garfield Goose and Bozo's Circus as a kid.
You would look best without that wig and do your natural hair. You don't want to look like Ofry with 3 different wigletts stuck on her head plus a wig in the ponytail.
Aren't they dressing you or giving you a clothing and hair allowance? they should.
Bring on Margaret Cho, Rosie, Carson Kresley, Howie Mandell, Roseanne, Anderson Cooper and other big mouth comedians like Kathy Griffin. Kathy Lee, Hillary and more of your mom.
Bonnie,
Just a note to let you know I love your show. I have three daughters who know you from Jumanji. The oldest started middle achool, a 3rd grader, and my youngest started kindergarten this school year. Taking them to school and coming home to a VERY quiet house made me cry. Most people I know are thrilled to have all kids in school. I miss mine. But, at 9a.m. the past couple months, I've turned your show on and you make me laugh. Anyway , thank you. I love it when you have your mom on, she's great. I entered the drawing for the Planet Earth DVD set, I'll be watching!
Stella
Bonnie,
Several weeks ago your show was based on the 50's and I came across this article, Housekeeping Monthly and it is hysterical. It is all about how women are to care for their husbands. From tending to the children to greeting them when they arrive home from work. Thought you would enjoy it. Go to this link.

Bonnie:
Saw your show today, yesterday was a repeat and I haven't seen or heard anything about the weekly Photo Caption contest. What won the Sarah Palin turkey photo contest?
Knedlick (formerly from Chi-town)
When we (my wife and I) come to your show it would be a delight if there was a way for Bonnie to call me ( a 72 year old) HONEY!
Don
Bonnie,
I was home today filling out my Christmas cards when your show came on. I really like it.
You are so funny. I liked how you played and related to Dean the chef. I have always enjoyed you as an actress. I hope this talk show stays on for a long time. Keep up the great job. You made my stay at home more enjoyable.
Sincerely,
Bethany
