Ingredients:
Serves 4 to 6
8 bone-in chicken thighs (or breasts, woo-hoo!), skins removed
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 celery stalk, chopped
½ cup white wine
1 cup chicken stock
One 14.5-ounce can crushed tomatoes in thick puree
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon red-wine vinegar
2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, plus more for garnish
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary leaves
Hot buttered rice, for serving (optional)
|
Directions
Rinse the chicken thighs, pat dry with a paper towel, and season with salt and pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the chicken, meat-side down first, and turn once, cooking about 4 minutes on each side. Transfer to a plate and reserve.
Pour off all but 1 tablespoon of oil from the pan. Add the onion and celery to the skillet, and sauté until tender, about 4 minutes. Add the stock and wine to the pan, and stir, scrapping any brown bits off the bottom of the pan; reduce by half, cooking 7 to 8 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes, honey, vinegar, parsley, thyme, turning to coat, then cover and cook over medium-low heat until the chicken is very tender and pulls easily from the bone, about 40 minutes. Remove the cover, increase the heat to medium, and cook for another 10 to 15 minutes to reduce the sauce. Serve over hot buttered rice, with sauce ladled on top, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

You recently had Brad Garrett on and I thought Til Death was canceled. I really liked that show and can't find where and when it's on in my area. I live in Chicago - any info you can provide would be great.
I watch your show all the time. I especially love it when there are cooks, cooking and recipes.
I really enjoyed the show yesterday with Pat and Gina. The food looked wonderful and the presentation was great!! Please continue to have chefs, cooking and recipes. Again, my favorite part!!
Bonnie, I love your show, but I really hate all the product placements: recently Tropicana orange juice and Bush's Grillin Beans. I really hate that. Commercials are commercials and the show should be the show. Don't give in to product placement pressure please!
Bonnie - I love your show. I tape it every day and watch it after work. My favorite part is the monologue and your mom. I come from a large (9 kids) Irish Catholic family in Louisville KY. We also have our birthdays in common, mine is 9/22/51. Keep up the great work, you've got a great staff! If I'm ever in CA I will definately come to see you in person!!
Love watching your show and really enjoy trying some of the wonderful recipes but they really are not easy to find on your website. Might I suggest you put a recipe tab for easier access for your viewers.
Keep up the GREAT Work Start every day with a SMILE!!! : o )
I enjoy the show. In Philadelphia your show is on very late in the evening. Your show aims to be wholesome and juxtaposed with it are commercials for "booty call" phone lines. Is there a chance of getting the show moved to an earlier time? The show and the commercials do not match.
really enjoyed the neelys. the food looked beautiful. i can't wait to make the recipes
bonnie-
you seem authentic.
monolgue is so boring typically.
a big yawn the cast and baby pics.
like the set.
does the band know another tune or versio of the same?
like your mom when she's on and her babushka!
guests and give-aways are improving, too.
but please, if there is a next season, burn that suit and all those tops and nasty wig.
you need a new look! a stylist and a hair cut.
i'm being brutally honest on on attack of you.
bring kathy griffin back...more gays and support the community on the show.
look, they love ellen, they'll love you.

I can miss my soaps, but I can NOT miss the Bonnie Hunt Show. She is so down to earth and funny. Her mom is a gem sent from heaven, and Charlie should be in movies. I should be outside right now because it is so beautiful out, but not for this hour each day.I really hope someday I can meet her in person and her mom and Charlie. My dog looks like Charlie and is a lover. I call him killer because he will kiss you to death. I got blessed when I had him given to me. I would love to get pic of Charlie and Sabastian together and one of Bonnie & her mom me, then one of all five of us. Of course thats just a dream.
Today's show was so awesome. I knew Jewel as a beautiful singer, then found out she is married to Ty...I almost fainted. I knew Ty from watching bull riding. He is so sweet and shy aner. d funny and cute. Watching him on Dancing With the Stars made me go gaga. Jewel is so lucky. My mom would call me up and ask me if I seen my sweetie on Dancing With the Stars tonight. I would say yes and giggle. He is so funny. His comments were silly which made him even more sweet.
I thank Bonnie everyday for msking me laugh so much, She has a very amusing show. God Bless her one and all. I just hope someday my dream will come true. I love her, her mom, amd her dog. They are so real. Thank you Bonnie for geing in my life 5 hours a week.
Sincerely Yours,
Lolo
I LOVE YOUR SHOW EVERYDAY. I LOVE YOUR DOG CHARLIE. I JUST LOST MY TWO LABS SO IT MAKES ME SMILE TO SEE CHARLIE. TODAYS SHOW WITH BRAD GARRETT WAS THE BEST!!! HE IS SO FUNNY!! SURELY MY FAVORITE SHOW. HAVE IN ON MORE!! PLEASE
Whoring for Tropicana. Please set a new standard for placement. I get sharing a guest's book or DVD. But to have you face the camera and pitch Tropicana is just too much.
My husband and I love your show, you are one funny lady.
We've also enjoyed your movies, think you are very pretty and smart....
Keep up the good work, and tell Mom, we love her too, she is a wise young lady....
Virginia
We have 2 nurses in the family and appreciate all the nurses, they work very hard.....

Bonnie, I was in the hospital after having knee replacement when I saw the show where you discussed the Teen Creed. Could you have your staff email me a copy of this? I would like to have a copy for this for my granddaughter. I love your program. I watch it every morning as I am getting ready for work. Keep up the good work.
Thanks,
Reva Wagner
You have a "Great Show" and I hope you continue down the path you are on. Being in love with Brad Garrett on Everybody Loves Raymond - seeing him in person was a BIG disappointment - his mouth is foul, foul, foul - I am glad he had to tow the line on your show. (maybe I am just old, but see no reason for his mouth) - It was really fun having Jewel talk about her younger years and marriage to Ty - have been watching him on dancing - seems very geniune. Thanks, Bonnie for great entertainment.................you are doing well - keep it up. And thank you for all the causes you back - it means alot to a lot of people.
Hey Bonnie, Love from Canada... Love your show.Don t miss a day. Recent Hip Surgery. U kept me laughing in Hospital and now home.. Keep up the fantastic show. U r brilliant.. Love your Mom too. And the rest of your fantastic gang...... xxxxxxx
Hello Bonnie, first I have something to say to Anonymous & Ela: First off Bonnie looks great and is a very beautiful woman and who are you to say what she wears and doesn't wear. Would you rather her wear reveiling clothes to get ratings, which she does not need because she already gets GREAT ratings..and her shows keep people laughing all day....
Now, sorry Bonnie, I think you are wonderful. I work nights in a nursing home and wake up at 4:00 p.m everyday to watch your show and you start my day off with tons of laughs..I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE YOUR SHOW AND I THINK YOU ARE AWESOME,ALSO I THINK YOUR MOM IS SO SWEET..Thank You Bonnie for keeping me laughing..Love Your Show :)
HI Bonnie: Fellow Chicagoan from Melrose Park here. Just love the show. I have an invalid 93 year old mother who takes a nap in the afternoon which allows me a little downtime from her care and you always make me laugh and put a smile on my face. It has been a tough year for us with her stroke & dimensia and all so, it's always good to have a laugh or two.
Anyway, I was wonderinf if you could invite my good friends "The Lettermen" on the show to perform. I used to travel with them in the old days, but now that I am the chief caregiver, I have to wait until they come to Chicago to see them. They are still performing all over the country and I would love to see them on your show. Tony Butala, the original Lettermen, is celebrating 48 years in the business. Imagine that, I was 9 years old when he started performing. I have known them for over 35 years and counting. It would be such a nice thing to have good music that everyone can understand. I know you're in my era of music, so you maybe could ask them on the show. Can't wait to see them.
Thanks Marilyn
You are so funny, Bonnie! But, I didn't understand the punch line (or the words),for the "Do you have chicken breasts", joke. Can someone tell this old Fa__ what that was?
