SHOW RECAP Sherri Shepherd ("Sherri"/"Permission Slips"): This comedienne/actress/talk show host can now add "author" to her diverse list of accomplishments. Her new book looks at letting women know it's okay to follow your dreams, but to also allow room for things to not go completely according to plan. With this new book, her new sitcom, her hosting gig and her role as a mom, we have to wonder... when does this woman ever sleep?!
Ty Burrell ("Modern Family"): You may know this guy from all the villain roles he's played in the past. Now he's becoming known as the hapless dad who tries way too hard to be cool on this hit ABC show.
Mary Jo Eustace ("Divorce Sucks"): Divorce isn't easy, and this lady knows first-hand. (She was married to Dean McDermott, who's now married to Tori Spelling.) So what's a girl to do? Mary Jo has many suggestions in her new book, but the most important one is to have a sense of humor about it all.

Hi Bonnie,
I really enjoyed your show today--this was certainly an unexpectedly stellar line-up!
You bring out the best in Sherri S. and she seems to do the same for you. I've been guilty of thinking less of Sherri in the past, but she stands out in her cast on The View and she is absolutely hilarious, especially with her impression of Oprah! She caught my attention on 30 Rock, and I hope she'll return!
I was surprised to see Mary Jo Eustace and so glad that you invited her on the show; I doubt I would have seen her otherwise. What a strong and sensible woman she is and she clearly has the integrity so sorely lacking in her ex-husband and his new wife. It was especially poignant to hear her describe his announcement while she was holding their 7-week-old daughter.
I've noticed that when people share details like this, often public opinion goes against them, and I'm sorry when that is the case. It's empowering to see Mary Jo stand up and tell her story and show that she will not let herself take on the shame that the two who betrayed her were probably counting on her to carry. For me, her choice to share her story was a gift, and I believe it was a gift to women everywhere who experience this type of life-changing betrayal. It was great to see you point out that [Dean]was likely leaving the vision of himself for the someone he could be with Tori. And kudos for publicizing a book that is candid about a "celebrity" (Tori). No one's behavior, regardless of their bank account or lineage, should be above repreive.
I haven't yet seen Modern Family but Ty Burrell was charming and his family photo was comedy gold! I will be sure to start watching!
Sincere thanks Bonnie (and crew)!!
Bonnie, I just watched your Oct. 27 show and LOVED the part about the cricket!! We have something like those in our basement that apparently eat your laundry if you don't get rid of them. So one day my husband rolled a piece of duct tape and put it near the laundry to catch these creatures. (He calls them jumping spiders.)
The point of this email is: they can NOT get loose from the duct tape once they're on it. Their little legs are STUCK and if they try to get loose, or you try to take them off the duct tape outside to be humane, their legs will come off! There is no humane way to do it.
You have to either leave them there until they die, or sqush them and put them out of their misery. Of course, I think they get high on the glue, so if the die, maybe they die happy.
We solved the problem after 12 years by calling the pest control man. You wouldn't believe what a difference it makes! I avoided it all this time and now I can't wait for him to come. If you think crickets are bad, you should experience the yearly onslaught of earwigs!
I ADORE you and your gentle, loving spirit that comes forth in every single interview, in every single show. You are a loving, gracious woman and I look forward to each show with pleasure and a warm feeling in my heart. You are a true testament to the love and camaraderie and terrific upbringing you have had all through your life.
I just have to say, you should wear that shirred white top more often under your black jacket. I've only seen it on you once, but it was the most becoming top I've ever seen you wear. Very simple and not at all busy. Black jacket, white top - shows off your face and doesn't draw attention away from you.
Thank you so much for giving of yourself every day. You could be making movies or writing and we wouldn't have you to look forward to every morning. Even my husband feels the love you send right out through the screen and he is NOT a talk show fan!
Sincerely,
Brook Foltz
Bonnie
I could not believe your show today, I was just waiting to hear what you had to say about Mika and Canaan. I was shocked, I could not believe you justified and laughed about them and what happened on the race. I worked with abused families and you can not under any circumstances justify one person trying to physically force a person to do anything. You made it seem so alright and fine. You always seem to have a great moral and values to teach people, abusive and physical contact I would not say fall in that category. You may think I am over reacting, but when I watched I felt her fear and when he grabed her and she yelled for help, NOT FUNNY at all.
Bonnie I hope you realize something like that could make a young women think it's is normal for a man to act like that way, when we all know a real man would never ever act like that.
Respectfully,
Dina in Edmonton
Bonnie,
I can't believe how PATHETIC Mary Jo was on your show today! She was such a downer. Get over it woman! You, Bonnie were really nice to her though.
I too am freakish about anything crawly. That includes spiders and snakes.Yikes.
Thought I would tell you one of my encounters with crickets.
We moved into a new house and my husband went to work.It wasn't long before I started hearing things.Guess what? I put plastic containers over about eight crickets and spiders.I was terrified.I waited for my husband to get home. He lifted up the cups and all the critters were gone.Needles to say I didn't sleep much that night.
I love your show.Words cannot say how much.I was laughing and crying today.I've been through a divorce after 28 years of marriage and barely survived.I'm now fighting breast cancer, but I'm a warrior....Love,Pam
Hi there! I really Enjoy watching Sherri Shephard She is a joy to listen too!
Seems a down to earth Real Mom!
I loved hearing how she is good with her child.
We moms do need rest!
But hey again I enjoyed her and but don't envy that she had to cope with that matter of Going to Jail!
I know many people that have had the not so nice experience of going to jail, some stories funny some scary!
Hugs from a fan!

Loved the Cricket story. Its nice to know someone else is freakishly scared of crickets like I am.
Just watched the show with Mary Jo (Dean's ex-wife). I am so glad to hear the other side of the story for once. It didn't seem like your typical drama....Torrid lies and vindictiveness. It was honest and let me say, I don't think I will watch Tori and Dean's show anymore. Divorce is a difficult stage for anyone experiencing this and Kudos to you Mary Jo for rising above this.
Bonnie,
I was crying/laughing at your cricket story. It is sooooo funny that you describe them as pre-historic-I think the same thing. If you think regular crickets are hideous; be on the look out for 'Sprickets', which are spider crickets. I got them in my basement this fall. I am 37 years old and have NEVER before seen such awful creatures. You've got to look up a picture online. They jump like crickets, with a spider body and crazy cricket antenae. I use my son's Nurf Air Pump Rocket Launcher to kill them. I've become a pretty good shot! Anyway, Love your show! Tara
Bonnie,
I can completely understand your reaction to the cricket. I hate them!!
When I was younger I lived in a 1st floor studio apartment in Plainsboro, NJ. I worked 2 jobs. My evening job was at a pizzeria and I would get home really late at night and I would walk into my apartment and the floor would be covered with crickets. It was awful. I would buy Raid by the case and spend the first 45mins. I was home eradicating the little monsters. I would have to sleep with my windows open and the covers over my nose in order not to fumigate myself...even in the winter when it was freezing.
Worst of all, if I missed one and it started chirping during the night, I would have to get up and hunt all over the apartment to find it before I could go back to sleep.
Anyway-long story short, I feel your pain!
Love the show,
Victoria
Finally - a great show - you're a riot - I hope you're on forever !!! Your cast & crew are the greatest as well as your mom... and the pets....
You have to see ARIANNA DANCING TO "SINGLE LADIES" on youtube
I missed Sherri Shephard's interview and given what Linda mentions above, I don't think Sherri ever really was a JW at all, especially in her heart. Honesty is a hallmark of JW's and it is very common for them to return any amount of money given as too much change, etc., because they are NOT dishonest people. When people who never make it their own go off and talk about it, it is so often very misrepresented. Ask any Jehovah's Witness anywhere in the world or go to the Kingdom Halls and ask your questions and you will see the difference. Malachi 3 verse 18 very much in evidence.
I wanted to say I really enjoyed seeing Ty Burrell. He was so funny in Evolution and it was great to see him interviewed.
And your last guest; WOW! She is so beautiful and articulate. It seems to me that her ex only wanted fame and he got it by betraying his family. WE all reap what we sow and what a shallow life he's living. Mary Jo Eustace is a knockout and I'm glad you gave her the chance to speak.
great show, Bonnie!
Dear Bonnie,
Love your show. I wish I had seen every episode from Day 1. I love when you have your Mom on the show. You are so blessed to have your Mom still on the earth to talk to. My Mom passed away in 2004 on Halloween. She was too young and life was very unfair to her. I know that she is in Heaven but I miss her terribly.
I would love to come see your show in person but I have no funds to fly to California for a taping. I am an RN that was crippled by my employer, Humana, and the settlement I got was unfair.
I will continue to watch your show although right now it is difficult to do since Verizon sent a technician to my home to replace a broken box and he destroyed my big screen TV in the process. Also, Verizon doesn't want to take responsibilty for this problem. What a world we live in today, Huh? Thanks.
Dear Bonnie, I just discovered your show and find it very entertaining.
Today you had Sherri Shepherd on your show and she mentioned that she used to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses and because she was taught (and apparently believed at one time) that Armageddon was coming soon that she didnt pay her tickets. Please, Bonnie, just for the record, that is not normal JW, reasoning. That was Ms.Shepherd reasoning. JW's are very conscience of their conduct and living an honest life. They believe in living according to the law (unless it conflicts with God's Laws as in the case of going to war). So No we do not ignore our bills and hope that Armageddom comes so that we dont have to pay them.
If you have any questions at all please feel free to email me. Sincerely, Linda
Bonnie,
I watch you everyday not for what you wear but for you. You are a ray of sunshine. You can do your show in a bathrobe and I would still watch. If you are happy wearing your black pants and blazer go for it. It is not the clothes that makes the person it is the person. Bonnie as long as you are happy that is all that matters. You are doing a wondeful job.As long as you are on I will always be watching no matter what you are wearing.
