Ingredients
Makes 1 1/2 quarts

1 lb of applewood smoked
bacon

½ cup of dark brown sugar

3 cups heavy cream

1 cup milk

1 1/4 cups sugar

4 egg yolks

1 vanilla bean, split

Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Lay bacon on baking sheet, sprinkle the brown sugar over the bacon and place in the oven. Bake for 14-16 minutes. Let cool and chop fine.

Combine the cream, milk, vanilla bean and sugar in a heavy saucepan and cook over medium-high heat until hot and the sugar is completely dissolved, stirring occasionally. When done, remove vanilla bean and discard.

In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks until smooth. Slowly whisk in 1 cup of the hot cream-milk mixture. Return the yolk mixture to the saucepan, beating constantly. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture coats the back of a wooden spoon, 6-8 minutes. Do not let it boil.

Strain the mixture into a clean bowl and let it cool completely. Stir in bacon and add liquid nitrogen* in small amounts until thickened, about 2 liters.

Hey Bonnie,
Love the show.
All of your guests have been fun and very interesting. Of course, their time on your show is far too short it seems.
I do have one request though.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let your guests answer your questions!! Then you can add your comments. They will be just as funny, I promise!
If you're doing this because of just having only so much time with each guest, shorten the list so you won't feel like you have to hurry through the interview, ok?
I would love to know if you actually read the emails here.
Hope you're enjoying your time off. Can't wait for the new shows!

Please have American Idol Adam Lambert on the show and maybe you two could cook together or something!

Hi there it was funny i was thinking the other day why does she always have a jacket on and wanted to say ho great you look today, not that you dont look great every other day but that jacket does nothing for you. You look much hipper and younger. You are super funny and super real love that. I love how you just chit chat with the guests sometimes get off topic which cracks me up. I love your love for animals. I have two goldens and wish i could have 100 more....thanks to keepin it real

Hi Bonnie-You are soo funny. I think that you should be a guest on your own show. I burst out in laughter when I watch you. You are so innocent and candid. Do you know what? I just saw on the internet that your show was 10 times better than Ellen. I know that we will see you in the number one spot soon.
I would love to see you!! Can you do a show in Las Vegas? I am coming to Pageant of the Masters at the end of July in Laguna. Can we meet up then? Would you let me be a guest at your show then? Thanks so much, Bonnie.

Barby

Hi Bonnie, I didn't catch all your show today. Too bad, George Lopez is a funny guy.
I would just like you to know that if your mother Alice did as good a job with the rest of your siblings, in raising you. She should be extremely proud. You are the nicest, most congenial person on TV today. Bar none!
I try and watch your show everyday but not always possible. You should have this show for a long, long time.

Devoted fan, Bill

Dear Bonnie,

Where do you get your fabulous aprons? I especially love the one you were wearing when you were cooking with the Poor Chef. Does someone make them for you or can you purchase them? I watch you every day and I must say I think your show is the best daytime talk show of them all. I love it that you talk to your mom and that she is so wise and witty. Way to be at 83!

To Christine, the poster above who inquired abt the type of breed of Fran Drescher's dog. I watched the program and she said it is a Pomeranian. If there are ANY POM breeders out there, I'd be interested to hear from them (by posting here) if they agree that this was a pure-bred Pom, as it did look a bit "bizarre" for a Pom, but, perhaps it was just the cut of its coat?

Hi Bonnie! I love your show. I try and watch it on my day off. I was watching your show on Tuesday, May 26th and was wondering if you could tell me the kind of dog Fran had on your show that day. It was adorable. Thanks for the laughs!
Christine

LOVE THE SHOW... NOTICED ALICE LOVES GREEN!!
WOULD LOVE TO SEE JOHN FRANCES DALEY OF BONES AS A GUEST. HE IS ADORABLE!!

Hi Bonnie, me and my boyfriend whatches your show every day. We like your show and just to let you know we raise high bread wolves for a living and we would like to be on your show with one of our high bread wolves. Sincerely, Marguerit Smith and Dennis Sabin

Dear Bonnie, I was so touched to tears when you called your mother's old high school boyfriend. It was so sweet and endearing. I want to thank you for doing your show. Due to recent health issues, I've been stuck at home. But, it gave me a chance to see your show and I've been watching it for the last month. You have such a quick and kind witt. It's so refreshing and encouraging to see a TV show and entertainer like yourself who can provide such laughter and witt without having to use rudeness, unkindness or sensationalizm to draw attention. You've really helped me smile during a time when it's hard to. I appreciate it greatly. May you be blessed with continued success. Sincerely, A-Chau Caban, Centreville, VA.

I wanted to tell you that you are a hit in our home. I record your show daily in case we might miss it and my girls started coming home from school and replaying it. My girls are 12 and 14 yrs old and they love your show! Now they are out of school and they look forward to catching you in the morning. Thank you for such a fun filled show that the whole family can watch. We think you are awesome. Today we watched George Lopez, he is a favorite in our house as well. Thank you both for great entertainment!
The Salinas'

Bonnie, you are hilarious! I just finished school for the summer (Woohoo!) and my kids are still in school so I have some time to myself! :-) I turned on your show and laughed till I cried! I think you're great, love your show and I'll be sure to watch everyday of my vacation and DVR during the fall semester. Thanks!

What a joy you are to watch...I get a good laugh and feel like I am visiting with a great, down to earth, friend. Please keep up the good work!!! I definitely appreciate being able to laugh in this day and age.
Thanks Bonnie!

Each and every show is a joy to watch. Bonnie, you have a keen sense of humor - and I love your MOM Alice too. Keep it up - I watch everyday.
